Cross Country Quilting provides quality free-motion quilting services and binding for your treasured works of heart. Custom orders for quilts, t-shirt quilts and mending/alterations. Local Customers - Feel free to drop off or pick up your items during regular business hours:
Tuesday - Saturday, 10 am - 3 pm
Out of the area/state - Simply print the order form and ship your items to the address listed. The return shipping is on me! Each service has a separate order form and links are provided under the headings below.
I accept cash, local checks, Paypal, and most major credit cards. (Please do not mail cash.) Quilting services require and quilts commissioned to be made require 50% deposit or $100 whichever is least. Mending and alterations require no pre-payment.
MACHINE QUILTING SERVICES:
Current turnaround time is 3-4 weeks. Please follow these steps to estimate the cost of your quilt.
- Calculate the area of your quilt by multiplying the length times the width in inches. (example: a twin quilt measuring 72" x 90" = 6,480 square inches)
- Multiply the area of your quilt by the price per square inch (psi). (example: for basic edge to edge quilting it would be $0.01 psi or 6,480 x $0.01 = $64.80 for a twin quilt)
Pricing varies depending on the complexity or density of the quilting pattern chosen.
- Edge to edge designs.........$0.01-$0.03 psi depending on design complexity (see patterns page)
- Custom.............................$0.02 psi and up depending on complexity. Call for a quote.
ADD OPTIONAL BATTING CHARGES:
Feel free to bring/send your own batting or I can provide batting for an additional charge. I use warm and natural cotton batting. If you have a preference, please specify the natural beige color or winter white. If you don't specify, the natural beige color will be used.
- Baby/Lap/Twin Size: $20
- Full/Queen Size: $25
- King Size: $30
ADD OPTIONAL BINDING CHARGES:
- Option 1: $0.05/inch Includes trimming the quilt, making the binding, and machine sewing it to the top for the customer to hand sew later.
- Option 2: $0.07/inch for machine binding (your stitches will show on the actual binding where it is sewn to your quilt).
- Option 3: $0.10/inch for hand binding.
- For scalloped edges and binding, cost is double the above prices per inch.
CUSTOM T-SHIRT QUILTS:
Current turnaround time is 3-4 weeks.
Are you interested in using your teenager's school t-shirts for a graduation gift? Maybe making a blanket for your significant other from his favorite racing shirts? Or even a keepsake from your child's baby clothes/onesies you've been stashing away in the attic? A custom t-shirt quilt is the solution. Using the chart below you can estimate the cost of your custom t-shirt quilt. Print and complete the order form, ship your t-shirts and optional supplies and I'll do the rest.
- Cost is $0.05 per square inch which will include your choice of a fabric or flannel backing included.
Size options are: (when considering the number of shirts a block is 10"-12" on average, baby clothes of course will be smaller)
- Wall hanging 42" x 42" (up to 6 shirts)
- Baby size 32" x 40" (up to 8 shirts)
- Crib size 45" x 59" (up to 10 shirts)
- Lap size 56" x 78" (up to 20 shirts)
- Twin size 63" x 87" (up to 30 shirts)
- Double/Full size 78" x 87" (up to 35 shirts)
- Queen size 84" x 92" (up to 42 shirts)
- King size 102" x 92" (up to 50 shirts)

BINDING:
Binding is completed on your custom t-shirt quilt with a machine stitched finish. Should you prefer a hand stitched binding please refer to the chart above under regular quilting fees for appropriate charges for this service.
50% deposit of estimate or $100, whichever is least, is required when you drop off/ship me your materials. remember the cost of your custom t-shirt quilt INCLUDES the minky or flannel backing provided by me, as well as the binding. Please specify your preference on your order form. T-shirt quilts are 'tied' rather than top-stitched machine quilted to maintain the fun visual elements of your t-shirts. Should you prefer machine quilting for your t-shirt quilt contact me for an estimate.
MENDING/ALTERATION SERVICES:
Current turnaround time is 7-10 days for this service.
Not many folks enjoy mending their own garments these days. Most don't even have the means to do so. I've had so many requests for these services that it sparked the entire sewing business I've grown to love so much. I do mending and alterations such as zipper replacements, patching holes, hemming pants or slacks, and even jeans. Repairing grommets and buttons from shirts and coats to pants and your favorite blue jeans. Alterations to 'down size' your favorite dress, and even lengthen your britches. I've even put humpty dumpty back together again for your child's favorite stuffed animal or character pillows. I will do some formal attire garments, however I DO NOT alter wedding gowns. Please refer to the bridal shop where you purchased your gown. Some even include the alteration and fitting services in the price of your gown.
Most mending and alterations services tend to be local customers, however we do include this service to our out-of-town customers as well. Whether you're local or out of town, please print and complete the ORDER FORM to send with your garments at the time of drop off or shipment. Should you need alterations done you will need to be precise in your measurements or have me measure you for fit when you drop your items off. I cannot be held responsible for alterations made with measurements you give that are inaccurate.
COST FOR MENDING/ALTERATIONS:
- $10 per hour with a 1 hour minimum charge. I can estimate your cost when we discuss your needs. For items shipped to me you will be charged a flat $5 fee for return shipping. Payment is due upon return/pick up of your items if you are local. If items are shipped your payment is expected prior to return shipment.
